I recently bought a 5-in-1 weather station and wanted to learn more.
I've enjoyed other Dummies books but found this one too sophomoric in humor and content. I wanted more info. about understanding the weather on my local news and in my backyard. Thus, rather than Top Ten Disasters and sub tropical jet streams, I would have liked more on the basics. Frankly, I considered giving it two stars.

Great book for those with an interest in weather.

I already know a pluthera of weather information. I still have a lot to learn though. That is where this book comes in. I have learned so much from the weather for dummies book. I learned new information from this book, every time I read it. I got this book used. The packaging was alright. The delivery was fast and speedy.

A Reader-Friendly Reference

Weather is a subject that everyone knows something about. However that's just where John Cox starts. So one knows about Doppler radar? How about polar orbiters? So one has always heard the expression "it's too cold to snow?" Is it really?
Of course this is a reader-friendly book. But I will wager that it will soon turn into a handy reference book that is frequently pulled from the shelf.
